華倫比提生性風流，又極有女人緣，花邊新聞不斷，和他有過誹聞的女明星不計其數，包括這首歌的作者兼演唱者卡莉賽門。由歌詞可看出卡莉賽 門對這段戀情是怨懟多過懷念。
不過，華倫比提年過五十之後，終於情定好萊塢一位才貌雙全的女演員安奈班寧（Annette Bening），至今仍十分恩愛，未見離婚之象。而華倫比提雖然形象不佳，但仍是位極俱才華的好演員。1981年他自導自演的電影「赤焰烽火萬里情」（Reds）拿下數座奧斯卡金像獎，包括最佳導演。由於該部電影劇情牽涉到共產黨國家，當時仍是戒嚴時期的台灣，自然是禁演。
另外一提，這首歌的和聲部分，包括了鼎鼎大名的滾石合唱團的主唱米克傑格（Mick Jagger）。
Carly Simon曾經暗示歌詞中的男主角是數人混合體：
第一段，酒後亂晃，壓低帽沿，指的是 Kris Kristofferson，
第二段，天真的夢，指的應是在英國時與 Cat Stevens 加上 Mick Jagger，
第三段前面，一起去Nova Scotia看日蝕絕對是 James Taylor，
後半段，到處偷朋友老婆的才是花花公子Warren Beatty。
